Resource Management Agencies

IERS has worked with public agencies to plan, design, and construct a range of projects that improve environmental conditions. Working closely with agency personnel and stakeholders, these projects have improved habitat for wildlife, created wetlands and riparian areas, and improved water quality by reducing erosion. IERS begins the design of its projects from the ground up, focusing on soil-based treatment approaches designed to address the underlying problems behind soil erosion and water quality impairment.

    Client: California Tahoe Conservancy

    Integrated Environmental Restoration Services, Inc. (IERS) provided assessment, design, and implementation oversight for the restoration of a heavily disturbed section of floodplain following the removal of an abandoned weir in lower Ward Creek. IERS worked closely with the California Tahoe Conservancy to develop cutting-edge soil and vegetation treatments that utilized local materials and maximized hydrologic function in this disturbed floodplain.

  • US Forest Service On-Call Restoration Contract

    Integrated Environmental Restoration Services, Inc. (IERS) was awarded a 3-year on-call design-built restoration contract for the US Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. IERS completed 8 individual restoration projects throughout the Lake Tahoe Basin, utilizing cutting-edge restoration techniques that were pioneered on previous demonstration projects for the USFS.

  • Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Best Management Practices Manual Update
    Client: Tahoe Regional Planning Agency

    Integrated Environmental Restoration Services, Inc. (IERS) was selected by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency as a key member of their Best Management Practices (BMP) Manual update team. IERS was selected for the company's depth of experience in designing, implementing, and testing a wide-range of BMPs in the Lake Tahoe region. As part of this project, IERS is producing an innovative and user-friendly document that will detail a practical approach to conducting water quality assessments on small sites, selecting appropriate BMPs and installing them correctly. This document will describe the best field-tested practices for water quality protection and restoration in the Lake Tahoe region.

  • Nevada Tahoe Bond Act Revegetation Guidelines
    Client: Nevada Division of State Lands
    Client Sector: Government
    Integrated Environmental Restoration Services, Inc. (IERS) was contracted by the Nevada Division of State Lands to develop guidelines for revegetation projects funded under the Nevada Tahoe Bond Act. These guidelines represented the most effective practices and approaches to source control for upland areas in the Sierra Nevada. IERS worked closely with the Nevada Tahoe Bond Act Technical Advisory Committee to iterate these Guidelines in order to create an effective, user-friendly, science-based document.

  • Sierra Tract Erosion Control Project
    Client: City of South Lake Tahoe
    Client Sector: Government
    Integrated Environmental Restoration Services, Inc. (IERS) has been involved in several phases of this large urban erosion control retrofit project in a residential neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe, CA. This project is utilizing the California Tahoe Conservancy Preferred Design Guidelines and Storm Water Quality Improvement Committee (SWQIC) project planning process in a highly urbanized setting. IERS conducted the initial site erosion assessment for the entire project area and has provided technical input in all phases of the SWQIC design process. In construction phases 1a and 1b, IERS prepared soil and revegetation specifications and provided implementation oversight during project construction.

  • Incline Fairview – Country Club Water Quality Improvement Project
  • Twin Peaks-Nemetz Riparian Restoration
    Client: California Tahoe Conservancy
    Client Sector: Government
    Integrated Environmental Restoration Services, Inc. (IERS) provided design and construction oversight for a California Tahoe Conservancy (CTC) riparian/SEZ restoration project on an abandoned site in South Lake Tahoe, CA. IERS designed soil and vegetation restoration treatments, facilitated collaboration among the project engineer, geomorphologist, and members of the CTC staff, provided implementation oversight during project construction, and conducted post-construction monitoring for this riparian/SEZ restoration project.
